Our vinyls are available in various widths, from 2 metres to 4 metres depending on the manufacturer, which offers flexibility to fit them without any joins even in larger rooms. 

Vinyl flooring thickness

Generally speaking, the thicker your vinyl flooring is, the more luxurious it will feel.  Thicker vinyls are softer and warmer giving your rooms a cosy feel, particularly compared with a stone, tile or wooden floor.  At Sargeant Carpets we stock a selection of thicknesses, from 2mm up to 5mm.  Thicker vinyls give better noise insulation than thinner vinyls, have a more solid backing and a thicker clear surface wear layer making them more durable and they will show fewer compression marks.

Safety aspects of vinyl flooring

Slip resistance is measured using a letter and numbering system, and we supply R10 vinyl flooring for domestic and commercial settings.  The ‘R’ value is the ‘ramp test’ is has undergone and the number 10 is the scale of slip resistance it can meet.  Our R10 vinyls are available in various ranges including luxury vinyls for homes and commercial-grade vinyls for business settings.   R11-13 vinyls are available for locations where only the most slip-resistant finish is required, such as healthcare environments.
